(My apologies for the untimely post, I realize its autumn now!)
We’ve finally gotten settled at home after our 4+ months in the south. It’s amazing how entrenched we can get in our daily activities when living in our 35′ “home,” but when we return our “sticks & bricks,” we’re balled up for weeks! When we’re living in the RV, we have a routine that is fairly consistent. When we get home, there are too many options and distractions; it takes a while to get acclimated. Colleen and Frank kept an eye on the house again, took care of our plants while we were gone and we are so grateful to have them as neighbors and friends.
Before I expand on our time back home, I want to share what should have been our final post from our southern trip.
We departed Live Oak Landing in Freeport, FL to begin our journey home. Our scheduled stops along the way were nearly identical to the previous year: Freeport, Tallahassee, Savannah, Fayetteville, Staunton, Hershey, Home. March 27 we started packing up the trailer to prepare for our departure when Mag had an idea! Our Canadian friends, Dar & Rick, and of course Dexter, stopped by to say their goodbyes and wish us safe travels. Mag wanted to capture a departing video of us pulling out of the site but I was slightly apprehensive. I acquiesced and she took her position; you’ll see in the video why I was a bit anxious????
We made our stop in Fayetteville for several days to visit family and pick up Jeanne; we had a great visit. The return home was uneventful, of which we are very grateful.
Both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day we spent in Stockbridge, MA. For Mother’s Day, we had lunch at an Italian restaurant and visited the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. On our way home, we stopped at a small bakery and enjoyed a hot beverage and a sweet; it was a lovely day!
For Father’s Day, we met Hayley & Harrison in Stockbridge and enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Red Lion Inn. It was a great Father’s Day!

Since we’ve been home we have made only one trip with the RV. Denise & Dennis were visiting his family in CT so we took a trip to Mystic, CT to visit and enjoy a couple of beach days. We camped at Mystic KOA (formerly Highland Orchard) where Mag spent summers during her childhood with family and friends. We had the pleasure of meeting some of Dennis’ family for pizza. They reminisced about days gone by at the campground with lots of laughs.
We’ve made our reservations for our trip south this coming winter and looking forward to it. We have no additional trips planned at this time, but there has been some chatter about a trip to Maine or Vermont, we’ll keep you posted.
Have a great summer!!
