Sunday – January 22, 2023
We’re approaching our final full week here in San Antonio and we have covered so much ground. We’ve enjoyed exploring the history, the people, and the many laughs we’ve had with our friends. Fr. Matt did such a remarkable job researching our daily jaunts throughout the area and keeping us on task; I don’t think we could have accomplished half of what we did without him.
We kicked back today so we could rest up! We picked up the Guidis at 5 o’clock for dinner at Maggiano’s. We had a really great time and I think everyone may have been getting a little “punchy.” We reminisced about our week and had so many laughs during dinner, we could be heard across the restaurant.
Monday – January 23, 2023
Mag and I kicked back again on Monday and the Guidis took a drive up to Waco to check out Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Market at the Silos and the Dr. Pepper Museum; Marcia is a big fan of the Gaines and, who knew Dr. Pepper was created in Waco!
Tuesday – January 24, 2023
Tuesday we met for lunch of BBQ from Rudy’s. Rudy’s and Pinkerton’s seem to be the highest rated BBQ restaurants in the San Antonio area and I thing the general consensus was, Rudy’s came out on top.
Wednesday – January 25, 2023
Wednesday we ventured north a bit for a tour through the caverns at Natural Bridge Caverns. We 
weren’t sure what to expect but everyone enjoyed it and we were all in awe. The tour took us about 200′ below the surface, all on foot, on a path that was well maintained and well thought out. A few spots you had to be mindful of your head but, beyond that, it was pretty easy. Surprisingly, the temperature inside the cavern was 70-80 degrees with humidity above 90 percent despite the cool and dry weather on the surface; mid-fifties, ~30% humidity. It was impressive to see how the cavern was carved out of the limestone over many years and all the stalagmites and stalactites that have been created. On our way back we stopped at The Shops at La Cantera for a bite to eat and browse the shops. It was a fun time with even more good laughs!

Now this is how everybody’s retirement should be. You are having way too much fun. I thought the place you had lunch was a place you might buy a bra when I first saw the picture. Great pics. Love Trice
